Build your link-in-bio page
Updated
Your Instagram bio has room for one link. Dartzo’s link-in-bio page turns that one link into a small page of your own: your name, a line about you, a stack of buttons, and, if you want them, buttons that open a DM with you instead of a website. You build it in the app and share it from your bio. Visitors do not need an account.
Before you start
- Plan: building and publishing the page needs Pro, Max or Ultra (or a trial). On Free you can open Growth → Link in bio and look around, but saving is refused with “The bio link page is a Pro feature — upgrade to build yours.”
- One page per account. You edit the same page whenever you like. Its address is yours alone.
- A DM button needs a ref link first. Create one under Growth → Ref links (see below).
Set it up
- Open Growth → Link in bioIn the sidebar choose Growth, then the Link in bio tab. The editor is on the left and a live preview of the public page is on the right.
- Fill in the Page cardPublic URL is the end of your address (letters, numbers and hyphens, 3 to 40 characters, and it must be unused by anyone else). Display name is the heading. Bio is one line about you. Avatar URL (optional) takes the address of an image you already have online; without one, the page shows a coloured circle with your initial.
- Pick the lookChoose an Accent colour from the seven swatches (it colours DM buttons and the avatar circle) and a Background of Light or Dark.
- Add blocksUnder Blocks, press Link, DM-flow button, Heading or Text. Give each a label, fill in its details, and use the arrows to reorder or × to remove. A page holds up to 50 blocks.
- Save draft or PublishSave draft keeps it private. Publish makes it live; once live the button reads Update & republish. After publishing, View live ↗ opens the public page.
The four kinds of block
| Block | What it shows | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Link | A white button that opens a website in a new tab. | Must start with https:// or http://. Anything else is shown greyed out and cannot be tapped. |
| DM-flow button | A coloured button that opens an Instagram chat with you. | Choose a ref link from Pick a ref link…. With none chosen it shows greyed out. |
| Heading | A small uppercase section title. | Good for grouping: “Free guides”, “Work with me”. |
| Text | A short paragraph. | Plain text only. |
DM buttons and ref links
A DM-flow button sends the visitor into your Instagram DMs through a ref link. You make one under Growth → Ref links: give it a Label, choose what it Opens (one of your active automations, or Just capture (no flow)), and optionally add a campaign id. When someone taps your bio button, Instagram opens a chat with you and the automation you chose can reply straight away. The person is saved as a contact (on plans that include lead capture), tied to that ref link, so you can see which one brought them. More on this in Tracked links and People and leads.
Your public address
The page lives at dartzo.com/b/your-slug. The editor shows the same page on the app address (app.dartzo.com/b/your-slug); both open it. Paste the dartzo.com form into your Instagram bio, since that is the one search engines list. A page that is not published returns “not found” to everyone, including you; use the live preview in the editor to check a draft. Edits go live right after you press Publish or Update & republish, and the public page refreshes at least once a minute.
The “Automated with Dartzo” badge
Public pages end with a small pill reading “Automated with Dartzo — get yours free”, linking to Dartzo. On Free it is always shown. On paid plans there is a switch labelled “Automated with Dartzo” badge in the Page card; turn it off to remove it. Removing the badge is part of Pro, Max and Ultra; see Plans and features.
Should search engines list it?
By default a published page may appear in Google and other search engines, so people who search your name can find it. You can opt out any time, on any plan:
- Open SettingsFind the Search engines section.
- Turn off the switchLet search engines show my link-in-bio page is on by default. Switch it off and the page asks search engines not to list it; results already listed drop out on their next visit.
This is a request search engines honour, not a lock. Anyone with your link can still open the page. A draft is never listed because it is not public, and turning the switch on does not promise a ranking, only that the page is allowed to be listed.
If your plan changes
- A page you have already published keeps serving if your plan lapses; nobody’s link breaks.
- You cannot save changes or publish new ones until you are on a paid plan again.
